- Date Filed: December 17, 2002
- Court: California Superior Court
- Location: Los Angeles
- Ticker Symbol: NYSE:THC
Hagens Berman has filed suit against Tenet Healthcare (NYSE:THC) on behalf of the Congress of California Seniors, an organization representing more than 650,000 California senior citizens, contending that the company has engaged in a wide variety of illegal actions - ranging from conducting unnecessary medical procedures to adding outrageous mark-ups to medications - in an effort to boost corporate profits at the expense of their members and other healthcare consumers.
Hagens Berman recently filed a class-action suit related to the suit representing the Congress of California Seniors. The class action suit claims Tenet has severely overcharged patients for surgeries, lab work, hospital supplies, pharmaceuticals, radiology costs and other medical treatments. Read the complaint for more information.
According to the complaint, Tenet's profits were fueled in part by unnecessary invasive coronary procedures at the Redding Medical Center performed by Drs. Chae Hyun Moon and Realyvasquez. The suit also claims Tenet's trumped up profits by using its overwhelming regional market power to charge inflated prices for surgeries.
