Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro Cases
T-Mobile USA
- Date Filed: October 19, 2007
- Court: U.S. District Court
- Location: Seattle
Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro filed a lawsuit against T-Mobile claiming it doesn't allow customers to opt out of text messaging services, which can lead to unwanted charges. The claim suggests that customers who do not want the text-message service have no way to avoid being charged for text messages, including spam or advertising messages.
Unlike other wireless providers, T-Mobile does not allow customers to disable text messaging functions. According to the consumers, under T-Mobile's plan, incoming text messages cannot be rejected or dismissed nor can the messages be avoided by turning the phone off. Customers only available solution is to pay for the unwanted service or to switch providers, which can trigger early termination fees.
If you were or are a T-Mobile customer and were charged for a text messaging service you didn't want, we would like to hear from you. You can reach HBSS at info@hbsslaw.com or click here
